Krissa Kirby, PsyD, LP
Psychologist
Greetings! My name is Dr. Krissa Kirby and I thank you for your interest and review of my
biography. I was born and raised in Southwest Michigan and have recently relocated to the
area. I have a beautiful college-aged daughter and a Belgian Melanois named Sochi. I enjoy
gardening, painting, traveling, and alpine ski racing. I also love spending time with friends
and family in my leisure.
I attended Western Michigan University (WMU) and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree
with a major in psychology and a minor in sociology. I went on to complete my Master of
Arts degree in counseling psychology at WMU and completed my second Master of Arts
degree in psychology and my Doctorate of Psychology at the Illinois School of Professional
Psychology (at Chicago).
I am a seasoned clinician and have worked in a wide array of institutions within the mental
health field over my 34-year career including hospitals, primary care/mental health clinics,
and private practice. I provide therapy to children, adolescents, and families and specialize
in the treatment of trauma, grief, mood disorders, chronic pain, and behavioral disorders.
I am passionate about providing a comfortable therapeutic space in which my patients can
safely address their unresolved psychological issues. I strive to provide my patients with
long-lasting solutions to their problems and aid them in developing functional coping skills.
